Bookspiration.

Yes, I have fallen for the Tumblr craze. Over the last few months, John Green's 'Looking for Alaska' has been mentioned or pictured in every fifth Tumblr post - so for Christmas 2012, I got myself reading the book itself. To my surprise, it is not just a faddish book like The Hunger Games (which disappoints hugely by the third book). No. Looking for Alaska is beautifully written, humorous yet touching and, me being 16 and all, I can extremely relate to it as a 21st century teenager.

I highly recommend you reading this if you haven't already! What I want to know, is where in the world is the film adaptation?! It has a great storyline - perhaps the next 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' - but none the less, I would pay good money to watch it. Paramount bought the rights in 2005, but have since made no effort to put a smile on this girls face and make a movie... I am disgusted that they could leave me, innocent and fragile, just sitting behind my laptop with no film to watch after reading the book. Disgraceful!

Also on my reading list from Christmas was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This one is a bookshelf keeper and one to read again and again. The magic it contains may be lost for the first few (perhaps a bit more) pages - but, oh boy, when it gets started it is gut wrenching, full of laughs and educational. Did I just describe a book as educational? Wow, I'm losing it! But at least that is a reason to get your mum to buy the book for you. Set in Nazi Germany and revolves around a sweet young girl... awh!

Keep reading my beautiful book worms!
