New year, new you... an old cliché.

Everyone - don't you dare deny it - complains about how gloomy, depressing and horrible January is. Going back to work and school, taking down Christmas decorations... and noticing your newly acquired love handles - just minor details, so take a look at the bigger picture. 2013 means saying good bye to 2012 and being able to recreate yourself! Why not grab on to this opportunity with both hands and grip on as tightly as you can? Here are some tips for a new you this year...

  • Take a yoga class, or watch Tara Stiles on YouTube and learn to relax and beat stress; as well as tone your body in time for the summer!
  • Meditate for 30 minutes at least 3 times a week. No distractions - so put down the phone, turn off the TV and log out of Twitter.
  • Drink AT LEAST 2 litres of water a day. Using a 1 litre bottle of Volvic can make it easier to do... just refill it at least once throughout the day.
  • Green tea is your saviour (and will curve your cravings)... try jasmine green tea by Twinnings.
  • Have one day a week of just eating fruit and vegetables. This will be your cleansing day.
  • A deed a day. Every day of 2013, try and do one good deed... big or small!
  • Walking is so good for you, so just go for a stroll on a Sunday afternoon.
  • Indulging in a little bit of dark chocolate now and then is perfectly fine... in fact, dark chocolate has LOADS of health benefits!
  • Talk to me... and to other people... get to know more about people around you in order to expand your knowledge of the world and grow in confidence.
  • Wake up every morning and compliment your body - "Girl, your curves are just so damn hawt!".
  • Fall in love with words. Writing down your thoughts and feelings is therapeutic and healthy.
I hope these tips help you in having a brighter year... for me, last year sucked! I wasn't treating my body right and that made me so miserable. 2013 will be different because I know that I can make a change. Healthiness is all that matters, because being healthy leads to happy and being happy means you are living a good life.
Perhaps share your own tips with me? And I would love to here any New Years resolutions you made! Out with the old...

Here's to a year to remember,
